February 2008

The reserve is in good shape after the winter with little damage from floods. The willow spiling installed last March is holding up well. Bird boxes used last season have been cleaned and are ready for the new nesting season. The bird feeders are being regularly filled and are always in use. Further willow revetment is scheduled for this year.

Following four very successful days at Wolsingham and Stanhope shows last summer, membership of TWET has risen to almost 200 members. Two guided walks in the Autumn and the AGM at the end of the year completed our 2007 programme and we are working to develop our program of works and events for 2008. To help with this process we are holding an event at the end of February to bring new members up to speed with the activities we intend for the coming year. Check the TWET and Low Bat blogs for the latest information.

The Trust is an independent organisation, based in Weardale, County Durham, England, working with the local community to carry out a series of environmentally based projects and events.
